The name of the Field Target Champion 2011 is STEYR

Field Target Worlds 2011 in Valo d'Astico, Italy. A majour success was celebrated by Connor McFlynn from Nothern Ireland, an enthusiastic STEYR shooter.

At the challenging parcours and also under difficult climatic conditions the result of Connor was notable 139 targets. His award was another STEYR air rifle - the fourth in his collection. He was very pleased to get this new model of the LG 110 FT.

Probably he will participate at the Field Target Worlds 2012 in Norway and hopefully successfully defend his title.

The women's cmpetition was also won by a STEYR shooter:

Galina Yakushina from Russia gained 119 hits in front of two ladies from the Southafrican team.

And again lots of success for STEYR!

As you can already see on our "Success"-page on this website: STEYR shooters have once again shown their capabilities and gained many, many medals!

For example at the World Cup in Sydney at the end of March the air pistol ladies (Nino Salukvadze, 385/485,5 points) and men (Tomoyuki Matsuda, 585/685,7 points) both gained gold using their STEYR pistols.
Also the bronze medals were won with STEYR air pistols: Olena Kostevych (386/483,6 points) and Tian Zhang (582/679,8 points).

Hardly three weeks later, the world's best shooters met again at the World Cup in Changwon, Korea. And again the results of the STEYR shooters were great!

What a success for the ladies: Gold went to Qi Sun from China with 391/489,9 points, followed by Olena Kostevych with 391/489,8(!) points and our competition-tested Nino Salukvadze with 385/486,7 points. All these medals were gained with STEYR LP 10s.

Also remarkable: Places 4 and 5 also belong to STEYR shooters...

At the men's competition, Daemjung Lee reached very good 589/688,1 points and was happy about his silver medal!

Last, but not least: The Austrian Championships - being an Austrian company, our interst for the results of Austrian shooters with our products are especially interesting.
And guess what: After Hannes Fabian in 2010, the 2011 gold medal for air rifle went to the approved shooter Thomas Farnik with his STEYR LG 110 and 593/695,1 points - again a STEYR champion!

Our congratulation to all participants of these competitions for their achievements - we are looking forward to the coming news!

World Cup Final 2010 in Munich

Great achievements of the best shooters 2010 from all over the world were shown at the shooting range in Munich-Hochbrück from October 26th to 29th 2010.

Air pistol women was the first discipline to be shot at the World Cup Final. Five STEYR shooters reached the final of the 8 world's best shooters.

With 384 points in the qualification and 484.7 after the final, Kira KLIMOVA from Russia leveled up from 3rd to 1st place and to the gold medal!

Viktoria Chaika from Belarus started second into the final with 386 points and kept this rank successfully - with 0.7 points behind the leader and 0.7 points in front of the 3rd. She scored a total of 484.0 points.

Especially exciting was the final air pistol men. World record holder Jong Oh JIN started the final on third place with 584 points, world champion Tomoyuki MATSUDA with 581 points on seventh and Rashid YUNUSMETOV from Kazakhstan (silver medalist at the world cup in Fort Benning) with also 581 points started as the bottom of the table. Unfortunately JIN couldn't hold the good position, scored another 98.2 points and finished 5th.

Totally different story for the Japanese shooter Matsuda. A good final with 101.8 points made up to a score of 682.8 points and to the 3rd place and bronze!!!!

But Yunusmetov showed us the most spectacular catch-up race:
With an unbelievable final of 104.8 points and a total of 685.8 he jumped off the podium with unexpected silver!

His "worst" final shot was his first one - a 10.0. 4 times 10.4, one 10.5, 3 times 10.6 and one healthy 10.9 added up to 104.8 points - a result he had not expected himself, we suppose.

STEYR Sportwaffen GmbH congratulates all shooters to their amazing results and is looking forward to the next world cup season!

Field Target World Championships 2010 in Hungary

Field target shooting is getting more and more popular - and STEYR Sportwaffen has developed the ideal air rifle for this discipline. At the World Championships (October 1st to 3rd, 2010), more than 30 per cent of the shooters used a STEYR LG 100 FT or LG 110  FT.

Not only our products found their way to Debrecen in the East of Hungary. STEYR Sportwaffen was the only manufacturer, who send its team to provide service, information and also repair, when needed.

On the picture you see our CEO Karl Egger with Operation Manager Christian Steiner and our service chief Ernst Huber (from left to right).

Our devoted shooters Karl Egger and Ernst Huber together with our sales manager Harald Wieser and the president of the Austrian Field Target Club Ernst Zwiauer were THE Austrian team - which ended up on 12th place. Out of 12. But this was not the weapons fault... It was great fun anyway.

This 3-days-event - brilliantly organized by the Hungarian Field Target Association - closed with a dinner and an award ceremony in a 5-star-hotel in Debrecen. The main prize for the new world champion from Spain was a STEYR LG 110 Field Target!

World Championships 2010 in Munich

Hundreds of shooters from all over the world competed in the 50th World Championships in Sport Shooting in Munich-Hochbrück from July 29th to August 11th, 2010. Also for the industry, this was a date to work towards since the Olympic Games 2008. New products have been developed, service was provided, support in technical regards was granted.

The aim for STEYR Sportwaffen GmbH was high - to defend the title of world champion in the disciplines air pistol men and air pistol women which we held for the last 4 years.

Pang WEI from China won the men's competition in Zagreb in 2006 with his STEYR LP 10 and a total of 683,8. In the women's competition, it was Natalja PADERINA from Russia, whose score of 486,9 (1,7 margin to the second!) was good for another word champion title for STEYR.

This year the gold score of Zorana ARUNOVIC from Serbia with her STEYR LP 10 was still formidable 486,8.

Her magnificent 101,8 points in the final pushed her on top of the winner's podium with a margin of 1,8 to the second who succeeded in the shoot-off against another STEYR shooter:  Viktoria CHAIKA from Belarus gained Bronze with a total of 485.

In the men's competition, all medalists of 2010 gained higher scores than the winner of Zagreb 2006!

The new world champion, Tomoyuki MATSUDA from Japan, climbed up to gold with his STEYR LP 10 E and a total score of 689,4. Even the bronze medalist, Jong Oh JIN from Korea (present world record holder), lay a long way ahead of the former world champion with his STEYR LP 10 E and 689,1 points!

Due to these outstanding results of the international STEYR top shooters, we can claim at least another two years:

All present Olympic and world champions in Olympic air pistol disciplines use STEYR!
